An article by the TOI (Times of India) stated that, Bhubaneswar has emerged as a major breeding ground for IT talents to cater to national and global players in the IT field. According to the article, Bhubaneswar’s IT scenario has been rising over the past few years with IT giants like TCS, FCS, HCL, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Mindtree, Capgemini as well as Microsoft looking out for fresh talents in the city. The numbers as of today has been at 10,000 to 15,000 students being hired annually and it is expected to reach 30,000 in another two years. This shows the potential that the city has.

Speaking to this, Mindfire Solutions, Mr. Chinmoy Panda stated that the IT sector in the state is in its early stage, and there is a lot of promise lying ahead. He also added that the state government should promote locally based small and midsize companies more in order to strengthen the sector as most of the outside companies might shift locations if they find some other destination suitable.
